Presentation of Rehab and Replacement of Library Windows by Michelle Ciccolo, Director of Community Development:
Present were Michelle Ciccolo, Kerin Shea and Trisha Desmond. Michelle Ciccolo informed the committee that this project is in conjunction with a ARRA Federal Stimulus Grant through the Energy Efficiency Community Block Grant Program. The EECBG program will replace windows on the newer section (1960’s) of the Library where the CPC funding would replace the window on the older Carnegie section of the building. Bids for the entire project came in lower than originally anticipated so a portion of the Phase II (Carnegie windows will come from the grant). These windows will be more energy efficient. Jennifer Burke stated that with the Library roof project currently underway, this project falls in line with the preservation of this historic building. A letter from the Massachusetts
Historical Commission indicates their support, as well as a Certificate of Appropriateness from Hudson Historic Commission was filed with the original grant application.
